Rarity of color. Purity of form.
White animals are either hunted as trophies or revered, protected, and considered good luck. More susceptible to poaching and predators, they’re exceedingly rare. James’s white giraffes are also exceedingly rare. Clean-lined and heroic, these large-scale busts fuse cubist and minimalist influences. James hand-builds each form with clay and makes a plaster mould. He presses a limited series from each mould, and glazes them alabaster.
